Mimi, 34, never fails to put out innovative content on her rapidly growing instagram feed, @mimles. Crafting optical illusions often inspired by other digital artists, her two superpowers however, are simply only using makeup products, and herself. Both as her tools and subjects. With such a large presence on social media, she’s now influencing over 1.2 million people through her instagram alone. Not to mention the various makeup masterclasses and workshops, she’s successfully taught, and plans to continue to teach around the world.
Mimi’s great success through social media promotion has led her to working with some of the biggest brands we know and love today; companies like Samsung, Bombay Sapphire, Warner Brothers, and Burberry to name a few. The IG MUA has brought in clients in all different industries, ranging from brides to cosplayers, to many different A list celebrities. Mimi’s full story is in Issue I 2020!
Why do you think people follow you/ like your brand?:
“I think I have built up a large following because my work is very versatile and diverse. My work has elements of beauty but with illusion elements that are fun for my followers to view and get confused by.”
How did you get your idea or concept for your business/ brand?
“In my first year as a professional makeup artist, I decided to try out an illusion look for Halloween which was a cracked face look. When I shared the look on social media, I received a lot of positive feedback. This encouraged me to continue to pursue this style and my portfolio has since grown to what it is.”
